I had a really good chuckle today. A friend of mine had my two little girls and her youngest daughter, two 8 year old's and a 4 year old. They were at her house playing babies, and what's more making their babies cry. Like we don't hear enough real crying and whining that we have to hear "play" cry and whine.
As the babies were crying and making all sorts of annoying noises, my 8 year old Chloe tells all the babies, "Cry in your mouth if you are going to cry!" WHAT!! I think I rolled off my seat. I never say that, so I don't know where she got it, but I am going to coin the phrase!! Cry in your mouth! In other words "I don't want to hear it."
I began to think, I wonder if God does that with us. He listens to us whine all the time at him. We don't like something, we think something else is unfair or we just don't want to obey, so we whine at Him. I wonder if he ever says, "Andrea, cry in your mouth for pity sake!" "Don't you know I give you so much, and you have to go around and cry and whine when you don't get your way...just cry in your mouth!" I laugh out loud as I write it and how completely funny those words are. I don't know if the Lord would say it quite like that but I would if I were God...good thing I am not.
So just remember when you are throwing your temper tantrum to Jesus about what you didn't receive, or what you don't want to do...cry in your mouth!!
