Stealing Scripture...

Is there such a thing as stealing scripture?? If so, I know God doesn't mind.

I saw a great post on Beth Moores blog today, so I am stealing it to encourage the readers of my blog, because it encouraged me so much.

Psalms 94:18-19 If I say, "My foot is slipping," Your loyal love, O Lord, supports me. When worries threaten to overwhelm me, Your soothing touch makes me HAPPY."

I love this, because, some times I feel my foot slipping. I slip when I don't trust God for His perfect provisions. I slip when I have road rage and forget myself yelling at a crazy driver (long story, I didn't really rage too much). It slips when I don't put Christ first before my busy day. It slips when I allow anxiety about fundraising for our adoptions over shadow Gods promises. It slips over and over again.

YET...

He is loyal and supports me when my worries threaten to overwhelm me.

His touch does make me so Happy.. How about you??

Great words of encouragement Dre! Of course my feet slip ALL the time. But God is so faithful to catch me and/or pick me up and gently grab my face and point it back towards Himself. And every time I fall down on my knees when I am overwhelmed, and cry out to God ... every time without fail ... He answers me with His presence. He quiets my heart and gives me peace. He is the reason I get up every day. He is my life. No matter how bad things look, or how bad I blow it that day, or if I stand completely alone, I know that I know that I know that Jesus is there and I have a hope and life and a future in Him. No matter what. I do not know how I survived before I had that assurance. God completely blows my mind sometimes by how powerful He is and yet so loving and gentle at the same time. One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 49:15-16 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.". To me that is such a nurturing picture of God. Who can imagine more love and tender care than a mother for a child? Yet God has infinitely more love and tenderness and nurturing for us. Okay now I'm preaching. Stepping away from the podium. Sorry for the excessive run-on sentences and random babbling but this post really spoke to me. Thank you for sharing as always. I love you my sista!
